A Perfect Place To Hang Oneself - How to get your artwork seen by thousands

On the 20th of September 2012 a new artwork was hung on the pedestrian walkway that runs along the already artistic Southbank of London's River Thames.

That evening the painting was screwed onto a bit of wood that has been permanently attached to the wall under Blackfriars Bridge just by the new entrance to Blackfriars station. It is highly unlikely that the correct permissions were attained to mount the obscure portrait in this prominent public position, begging the question: how long will it remain? Or perhaps a more pressing question would be: how long will it take before somebody draws a penis on the head?

Some suspect it is a self-portrait, which, if true, would mean the culprit has given the authorities an artist's impression of himself. A true gent!
